The recent years have witnessed an explosion of research activities in the areas of life sciences, physical sciences and engineering with application to medical problems. Such activities require inter-disciplinary collaborations among scientists, engineers, medical researchers, and practitioners to solve complex real world problems. This conference is the premier forum where members of the IEEE Circuits & Systems and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Societies present results and innovative solutions for today's health problems at frontiers of Bioengineering. Intelligent Biomedical Systems has been chosen as the theme for this year’s conference.

The conference is multidisciplinary in nature comprising an eclectic mix of insightful tutorials, and technical sessions. The organization and planning of the conference enables members of our communities to broaden their knowledge in emerging areas of research at the interface of the life sciences and the circuits and systems engineering discipline.

The multidisciplinary approach of this event will enable the CAS community to benefit from a mix of tutorials and technical sessions covering a wide range of topics such as:

  1. Bioelectronics / Biomedical instrumentations
  2. Genomics and Proteomics
  3. Implantable and wearable electronics
  4. Neuromorphic Engineering
  5. Biomedical aids to the disabled
  6. Low power micro-and nanoelectronics
  7. Smart sensors / Body Sensor Network / Biotechnology sensor circuits
  8. Mixed-mode system-on-chip
  9. Micropower imaging technology / Biosignal processing
  10. Wireless technology in medicine / Telecare systems
  11. BioMEMS
  12. Gene circuits and molecular circuits
  13. Lab-on-chip Bio-nanotechnology
  14. System biology
  15. Organic Semiconductors
  16. Electronics for brain science
  17. Biomedical Engineering technology
  18. Healthcare: Information technology
  19. Bioinformatics

This event will give to researchers in this area a unique opportunity to broaden their insight into the new and developing area of medical technologies and to create inter-disciplinary bonding and come up with innovative solutions that todays healthcare problems and challenges require.
